The name Ferrari is synonymous with aesthetic excellence, powerful engines, and relentless technical innovation. At the center of this legacy stands Enzo Ferrari, one of the most influential figures in automotive history. Driven by extraordinary vision and an unbridled passion for motorsport, Enzo Ferrari built a legend that continues to define performance and prestige.

The Montblanc Great Characters Enzo Ferrari Special Edition is dedicated to the man and his lifelong devotion to racing. Drawing inspiration from the crest of Enzo Ferrari’s hometown, Modena, and the emblematic yellow of the Scuderia Ferrari logo, this edition honours Ferrari’s “second soul”, the colour yellow.

The cone is engraved with the dates of Enzo Ferrari’s birth and his first racing victory, while the cap top bears his signature and the name of his father’s workshop, Officina Meccanica Alfredo Ferrari, a reference to his birthplace. Crowning the cap is the Montblanc emblem in blue precious resin, a tribute to Modena’s crest, framed by intricate metalwork reminiscent of a vintage car grille.

Enzo Ferrari’s first victory at the Circuito del Savio marked the beginning of one of the most iconic symbols in motorsport history. Inspired by Countess Paolina Biancoli, mother of war hero Francesco Baracca, Enzo adopted the emblem of the prancing horse from her son’s aircraft as a symbol of courage, dominance, and good fortune. The Cavallino Rampante is engraved on the cap of this edition, accompanied by the words “Le porterà fortuna” (“It will bring you luck”).

Further tributes to Ferrari’s engineering legacy appear throughout the design. Twelve engraved lines symbolise the twelve-cylinder engine of the Ferrari 125 S, the first Ferrari automobile, which left the Maranello factory on 12 March 1947. Enzo Ferrari’s famous motto, “You cannot describe passion, you can only live it”, adorns the ruthenium-coated clip.

The writing instrument is completed by a solid Au 585 gold nib, ruthenium-coated and embossed with the word “Pilota”, one of Enzo Ferrari’s nicknames, alongside the steering wheel of the legendary Ferrari 250 GTO, one of the most celebrated racing cars in history.
